Welcome to Chloé
Online boutique
Founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Chloé has combined creativity, freedom, and craftsmanship since its inception. Its founder’s visionary outlook continues to inspire the Maison and its commitment to a more equitable future.
Chloé contributes to the Group’s sustainability strategy. We work to better assess the social and environmental impacts associated with our operations and value chain, in compliance with applicable regulations and aligned with Group policies.
Our approach is built on four complementary pillars: social impact, the environment, governance, and our supply chain. It translates into actions promoting inclusion and skills development, strengthening our sourcing practices, establishing partnerships dedicated to women and girls, and launching initiatives to extend the lifespan of our products.
Our progress is reviewed within our internal governance framework, notably during meetings of our Sustainability Committee, which brings together internal stakeholders and external experts. This dialogue enables us to evaluate our actions, identify key areas of focus, and evolve our priorities.
Founded by a woman, Chloé has placed female freedom and empowerment at the heart of its identity since its inception. This heritage inspires our commitment to organizations working to advance the education, inclusion, and autonomy of women and girls.
Our support takes the form: of both financial contributions and the active involvement of our employees.
Chloé is evolving its philanthropic strategy to strengthen the alignment between its international and local partnerships, its social priorities, and the engagement of its teams.
UNICEF
Chloé has been a partner of UNICEF since 2019. This partnership supports programs dedicated to developing the skills of adolescent girls and young women, particularly in the areas of digital technology, social entrepreneurship, and skills relevant to their personal and professional futures.
The terms and countries of intervention are determined by UNICEF within the framework of existing partnership agreements.
*UNICEF does not endorse any company, brand, product, or service.
Chloé supports specific initiatives by Rêv’Elles, a French organization that helps young women from priority neighborhoods with their personal and professional development.
Through workshops, mentoring programs, and dedicated events, the organization helps them build confidence, broaden their horizons, and shape their future plans.
In addition to its international partnerships, Chloé supports local initiatives tailored to the contexts of the regions where the Maison operates.
These collaborations may focus on education, employability, inclusion, or access to activities that foster autonomy. They are regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with the Maison’s philanthropic strategy.
Chloé is a company committed to equality. We aim to ensure gender equality and promote workplace inclusion, while supporting and encouraging all our employees in their professional journeys.
We strive to foster a work environment where people of all genders, ethnic or social backgrounds, sexual orientations, and ages—as well as individuals with visible or invisible disabilities—feel welcomed, respected, and valued.
Chloé offers its teams training programs designed to help them better understand and integrate sustainability topics into their activities. Dedicated content is provided to complement the resources made available by Richemont.
Depending on the specific role, these programs may cover materials, eco-design, traceability, circularity, climate, equality, or sourcing practices. Operational tools and resources are also developed to assist the relevant teams in implementing social and environmental policies and procedures.
Chloé offers its employees two paid days per year to participate in volunteering activities.
Chloé fosters team engagement through concrete actions aligned with the Maison’s priorities, particularly the education, inclusion, and empowerment of women and girls, as well as environmental protection.
A significant proportion of the environmental impacts associated with our products occurs upstream in our supply chain, as does our capacity to generate positive social impact. Chloé therefore works with its suppliers and partners to increase visibility regarding the origin of materials, improve traceability, and better identify risks related to human rights and the environment.
Our approach is based on Richemont’s Supplier Code of Conduct and applicable regulations. For further information, please visit Richemont’s dedicated page.
TRACEABILITY
Chloé is progressively strengthening its traceability capabilities for raw materials. This effort relies on data collection from suppliers, specialized tools, and—where relevant—recognized certifications or verification systems.
Our goal is to increase visibility across the various tiers of the supply chain, extending to the origin of materials whenever available data and systems allow. Digital passports, available for several product categories, also help make certain traceability information accessible.
SUPPLIER RELATIONS
Suppliers are required to comply with Richemont’s Supplier Code of Conduct, which outlines the Group’s requirements regarding business ethics, working conditions, human rights, and environmental protection.
Additionally, Chloé implements a due diligence process to identify risks which may include document reviews, information gathering, audits, or improvement plans, when required. The Maison also continues to strengthen its approach to meet emerging regulatory requirements, particularly regarding deforestation, traceability, and environmental reporting.
Chloé seeks to increase the proportion of materials with a lower environmental impact than comparable conventional alternatives. Depending on the product category, this may include recycled materials, materials from certified supply chains, or repurposed deadstock.
Using these materials does not eliminate their impact entirely. It is one of the levers the Maison employs to reduce impacts, alongside reducing volumes of non-renewable virgin materials, eco-design, traceability, and extending product lifespans.
Since 2023, Chloé has been progressively rolling out its Digital Product Passport across several categories.
Accessible by scanning either the QR code or the NFC chip associated with the product, the Chloé Digital ID allows users to access product information and features designed to extend the customer experience, facilitate care and repair, and support recirculation where suitable solutions exist.
For Chloé, circularity begins at the design stage and extends throughout the product's lifecycle and supply chain. The Maison focuses its efforts on several complementary levers:
- progressively integrating eco-design principles into collection development;
- prioritizing product quality, durability, and repairability;
- improving the performance and accessibility of care and repair services;
- repairing, reusing, or recycling products and materials whenever possible;
- collaborating with partners specializing in redistribution.
In particular, Chloé is working to improve its repair processes, explore new solutions for footwear, and develop systems to repair certain stock items before considering other recovery options.
Chloé collaborates with Vestiaire Collective to facilitate the resale of eligible products and encourage their redistribution.
The services offered, accepted categories, and applicable conditions may vary by country and change over time. More information here.
Creating desirable products designed to last, while factoring in their environmental impact from the design stage.
Chloé is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its products while preserving their quality, desirability, and the craftsmanship required to create them.
The Maison relies on scientific frameworks, standards, and tools selected by Richemont—notably materiality assessment—to identify its key impacts, risks, and opportunities, and thereby define its priorities for action.
Chloé participates in the Group’s non-financial reporting (link below), which is published annually and presents consolidated greenhouse gas emissions results. Chloé contributes to Richemont’s objectives and strives to mitigate its impact on climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its direct operations and supply chains. Chloé also works to better identify climate change-related risks in order to implement prevention and adaptation measures, as well as to drive continuous improvement.
Chloé prioritizes avoiding waste generation, while promoting reuse, repair, and recycling when avoidance is not possible.
The Maison works to improve cutting efficiency, reuse certain dormant material stocks, and strengthen data collection regarding offcuts, production waste, and their final destination, relying on trusted partners in the process.
Wherever possible, Chloé prioritizes the use of mono-materials in its packaging, the lightweighting of certain formats, the elimination of non-essential elements, and the integration of recycled materials or materials from verified sources.
This approach is aligned with Richemont’s policies and applicable regulations.
Chloé supports Richemont’s approach to implementing measures aimed at reducing energy consumption, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the use of renewable energy. Chloé utilizes international certification standards such as LEED certification.
Chloé collaborates with Richemont and logistics partners to improve the efficiency of transport flows, optimize load utilization, and select transport modes with the lowest environmental impact, while taking into account operational constraints and delivery times.
Our Sustainability Committee meets twice a year to review the progress of our initiatives, share key available results, and identify issues requiring particular attention. It brings together representatives from the Maison and external experts who provide an independent perspective on our approach. Chloé also aims to strengthen the contribution of its employees to this governance structure, ensuring that their perspectives can inform the evolution of its social and environmental priorities.
B Corp is an international certification¹ established in 2006, awarded to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Chloé contributes to Richemont's Annual Report by providing the data and information required for the Group's non-financial reporting. The report presents the Group's policies, indicators and progress on key social, environmental and governance issues and serves as the primary source of consolidated information for Richemont and its Maisons. Chloé complements this disclosure with information on projects directly related to its activities, products and partnerships, which are featured on its website.
