Chloé Curates Number Five – The Tokyo Edition Is Here
The fifth instalment of Chloé Curates coincides with the Maison’s arrival in the Japanese capital for #ChloeInTokyo
Chloé and Creative Director Gabriela Hearst have travelled to Tokyo to spotlight the life and work of women creatives, including photographer Momo Okabe – the fifth subject of Chloé Curates.
Okabe has explored gender identity as well as her own asexuality in her work. For instance, the series ‘Bible’ is a fluid portrayal of the artist’s life and the LGBTQ+ communities in Japan. Okabe’s publication ‘ILMATAR’ meanwhile comprises images made between 2014 and 2019 that depict scenes of love, desire and grief, and culminates with the birth of her first child.
Chloé Curates launched in June 2022 as a platform for the Maison and its Creative Director Gabriela Hearst to spotlight the work of inspiring women artists.
