Women helping women: Chloé unveils a video for International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, the Maison is amplifying the voices of women who shape the Maison today

Chloé was established in 1952 by a woman, with women and for women. Staying true to our founder Gaby Aghion’s legacy, we launched our Women Forward Partnerships last October. Through donations, volunteering time and supply chain orders, Chloé supports its partners, NGOs and social enterprises, who are working tirelessly to close the gender gap.

Our partnership with UNICEF began in 2019, and since then we have initiated many other collaborations, including all our stakeholders, with one common goal: uplifting women and eliminating the barriers that stop them from reaching their full potential. After announcing a local partnership in France with Rêv’Elles last year, we are delighted to announce two new partnerships in the US and China.

In the US, we are partnering with STEM From Dance, an initiative that encourages girls of colour to engage with STEM using the power of dance as a vehicle.

In China, we are launching a ‘Green Skills for Girls’ training programme with Save the Children, focusing on practical environmental knowledge that girls can implement in their future careers.

These new partnerships reflect our research-backed belief that an understanding of STEM and environmental literacy is essential for girls to become tomorrow’s change agents. They join our community of partners, that we continue to support.

In 2019, the partnership with UNICEF was initiated to help provide girls with skills to advance in the workplace through education, entrepreneurship and training programmes in five countries: Bolivia, Jordan, Morocco, Senegal and Tajikistan. To date, the partnership has reached over 95 000 girls.

Established in 2013, the French NGO inspires and supports young women from low-income neighbourhoods. Through self-confidence workshops, mentoring programmes and dedicated events, Rêv’Elles aims to broaden these young women’s horizons both personally and professionally. Chloé supports Rêv’Elles in empowering their alumnae through training in public speaking as well as the launch of a dedicated safe space for girls and women during and after their programmes so that ultimately they can become leaders of change. Since the launch of our partnership in October 2022, the first three rounds of public-speaking programmes aimed at young women from low-income neighbourhoods were launched.

Our new partnerships reflect our research-backed belief that knowledge, experience, and confidence in STEM and environmental literacy are essential for girls to become tomorrow’s change agents and that economic inclusion for women is imperative.
